Well today is Sunday August 3rd.

We've traveled from the UP of Michigan to the area known as Wisconsin Dells. Best known as one of those local mass tourist spots here in Wisconsin similar to Myrtle Beach, VA Beach, OBX, and so on.  The difference here, there is no ocean just the Wisconsin river.

On Friday we took a boat tour of the Dells in the upper portion of the river and a "duck" tour on the lower portion.  Tours well worth the time and cost.

Here we have the boat and some rock formations:

I wasn't quick enough to capture the Sheppard dog jump across so I captured the associated picture.

The lower tour on the "duck" was way too bouncy to capture any pictures.  Anyway, for those of you who do not know what a "duck" is (it doesn't quack in this context) it is a product built by GM back in the 40s to help in amphibious landings.  It had wheels and a propeller.

Yesterday, Saturday the 2nd, we went to watch cheese being made (of course had to buy some cheese curds and 10 year old cheddar) then to The House on the Rocks in Spring Green, WI.  It was a home built by a gentleman by the name of Alex Jordan.  I would suggest you Google him and take a look.  Below are a couple of pictures I attempted to capture of the mass merry go round.

Merry Go Round

Unfortunately you are not able to see (terrible photographer) but this is the Merry Go Round. There are no horses just figurines of every weird animal (except the horse) you can imagine.  This was all built and designed by Alex Jordan.  The horses are mounted on the walls. Hundreds of them.

Giant Calliope

Here is one of many working calliopes. This one is at the Merry Go Round. A special building constructed by Alex Jordan for this feature.

Well the doc did tell Judi and Bob to walk at least a mile in the morning and another in the afternoon, this was in excess of 2 miles including stairs, and up and down walkways.  We were beat when we finished this one, not to say hungry.

Today, we are taking a break and just hanging out.  Fresh corn from the local farm stand is on this evenings menu.  Tomorrow we travel to Rochester Minnesota so Walt and Sherry can visit their old stomping grounds.

Was there really a boy and dog jumping across those rocks?? Can't be.
